Steve Baxter lettered in varsity basketball his junior and senior years and was chosen All Tournament as a senior. He lettered in varsity baseball his junior and senior years and was picked as All District and District Leading Hitter as a senior. Craig Glickman, a close friend, has said that Steve avoids the subject, but “As far as I know, Steve still holds the Richardson HS batting average record of .517 after 45 years!”
Steve went to Hill Junior College 1970-71 on a baseball scholarship and there he was elected President of Fellowship of Christian Athletes and was chosen All Tournament in the Texas Regional Tournament.
By 1985, Steve was assembling partnerships and buying larger apartment units with postponed Multi Family Land For Sale In North Dallas - Steve Baxter Dallas Real Estate Investor maintenance in need of a Multifamily Real Estate Investing In Dallas - Steve Baxter Dallas Real Estate Investor reparation. Steve became known as a ”turnaround expert” because he had both the management experience plus the construction knowledge and ability to complete a renovation on time and under budget.
The basketball video can be viewed here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N51xwTjLtFQ
Steve has told them what he would like to be spoken about himself by his kids and his students: “I really knew that Cat Daddy (Steve’s nickname) loved me and cared deeply about me.”
Richard Black, a dear friend, has spoken this about Steve : "I have known Steve as a good friend for 38 years. I was his director with Young Life when he managed the Richardson High School Young Life club for 13 years . I began investing with Steve in real estate in 2004. He is one of the most honorable guys I know. Steve has a nose for finding good real estate deals, and has the ability to make them happen and make money.”
As a junior on the basketball team, Andrew Baxter knew he was not going to play much so he resolved that he wished to be the best teammate on the basketball bench. He did this by encouraging the whole bench to fully support the players and be cheerleaders on their behalf. He helped all the bench to "go crazy" for the guys playing. It made a big difference in the basketball team and likely helped the fact that the team made it to the basketball playoffs for the first time in a long time.
Andrew Baxter was a 5-foot-9 point guard, and worked very hard during his high school career on Pearce’s team. This hard work and diligence taught him some of the character traits necessary to be successful in life.
Andrew Baxter always loved Young Life in high school. The group met weekly, went on summer and winter camps, and encouraged its members in their Christian faith. But BUCS was similar to Young Life at the next level, fellowship for college students eager to combine their college experience with their Christian walk.
Andrew’s perspective is amazingly like that of his father, Steve, and ultimately to that of the Apostle Paul, who wrote, "Everything that was gain to me, I consider to be a loss because of Christ. What I mean is, I consider everything to be a loss in view of the surpassing value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord.”
Furthermore, the Bible makes a challenge that goes something like this: "I call heaven and earth to record this day, that I have set before you life and death: therefore, choose life.”
