Steve Baxter graduated in the topmost portion of his class at Richardson High School in 1970, subsequent to having been elected as Junior Class President, Junior Class Favorite, Senior Class President as well as Mr. RHS.

Steve is well-known for this quote: “I believe in the circle of life. The most important purpose I have is to be the very best father I can be to my two sons, to help train, develop, support, and love on them always!”
As a junior on the basketball team, Andrew Baxter was aware that he was not going to get to play much at all so he decided he wanted to be the best teammate on the bench. He encouraged the whole bench to fully support the players and be cheerleaders on their behalf. He helped all the bench to "go crazy" for the guys playing. It made a big change in the basketball team spirit and likely contributed to the fact that the basketball team made it to the basketball playoffs for the first time in many years.
Brennan Baxter, Andrew Baxter’s older brother, was a successful basketball player. Steve enjoyed Brennan’s success just as well and has had many happy times watching both of his sons’ successes both on and off the Pearce High School basketball court.
Andrew Baxter enjoys the new challenges of college academics. He loves meeting class mates from all over Texas and other states. But most of all he enjoys the Christian fellowship of being involved in Brothers Under Christ - an organization of Christians at Texas Tech who choose to deepen their faith as they progress through college.
Andrew’s perspective is remarkably similar to that of his father, Steve Baxter, and ultimately to that of the Apostle Paul, who wrote, "Everything that was gain to me, I consider to be a loss because of Christ. ”
Furthermore, the Bible makes a challenge that goes something like this: "I call heaven and earth to record this day, that I have set before you life and death: therefore, choose life.”
